HISTORY OF PIG N WHISTLE!

The first Pig ‘n’ Whistle was owned & operated by John Mahon of Ireland.
He opened it in 1969 in the old townhouse of President Taft on W. 48th street,
in the heart of the Rockefeller Centre.

It quickly became the meeting place for New York’s literary
& banking elite.

In 1998 John Mahon & fellow Irishman Kenneth McCoy opened the Pig on 3rd.

It is one of the best bars in the area, carrying on the tradition of great food and drink served in a warm & friendly atmosphere.

Located in the heart of midtown Manhattan it is regarded as the best Irish pub in NYC & one of the top live music destinations.
